UAAHC’s curriculum is rooted in our philosophy, "retrieve the past in order to create the future" and our seven guiding norms. Our curriculum is centered on the study of history, law, civics and the arts. The thematic and interdisciplinary approach to our curriculum coupled with the academy’s active learning environment supports our portfolio assessment model. UAAHC teachers have the opportunity to work with their colleagues through our common planning periods. This enables them to create innovative interdisciplinary units and support a cohort of our scholar’s progress. As a history based school, we are committed to developing the skills, qualities and disciplines of a college bound historian. We define a college bound historian as an independent thinker, investigator, problem solver, activist and a master of acquiring and synthesizing multiple strands of information.
